What is a Skills Partnership
underline

Skills partnerships are cooperation models between countries that aim to improve the training of young talents for the benefit of the labour markets of all participating countries. Skills partnerships typically bring together countries with a high demand for skilled workers and an ageing population on the one hand, and countries with a growing young population and insufficient training and employment opportunities on the other.

About theProject

The Skills Partnerships pilot project between Ghana, Senegal and Germany pursues this approach and focuses on the construction sector. The aim is to improve training for traditional construction trades on site and, at the same time, to attract talented young people from Ghana and Senegal for an apprenticeship and subsequent employment in Germany. In addition to the recruitment of skilled workers in the long-term, the aim is to facilitate safe and legal migration routes into training and employment, thereby offering an alternative to irregular migration.
